Caring for Creation

We are an eco-congregation and seek to counter the effects of climate change. We aim to raise awareness of climate crisis issues at local, national and international levels.

As Christians, we believe that the world around us was created by God and that we are here to care for it and ensure it is here to support future generations.

How we help to care for God's world

We help to look after our world through eco-aware worship which includes activities such as:

  • Climate Change Sunday Services.

  • Recycling within the community, which includes helping with hard-to-recycle items (printer cartridges and spectacles) at our church and South Hall for charity.

  • Making church grounds a haven for small mammals and birds.

  • Striving to make our buildings and homes as energy-efficient as we can.

  • Muddy Church for kids and adults.

  • 'Pride in Our Environment' events, including litter pick days.

  • 'Walk to Church' Sundays to reduce air pollution.

  • Open meetings to discuss and learn about what we can do and to be aware of impacts around the globe.

  • Annual wildflower planting to protect suffering bee and insect populations.

  • Winter keeping warm and energy saving tips.

Our Caring for Creation team is led by Frank Dick. If you'd like to get involved with the team, please complete our website enquiry form.

Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
