Ready to cut the cake!

May Braid - 100th Birthday!

Our Guild member, May Braid, was 100 years old on Saturday 30 November 2019. Here she is, with Margaret Dundas and Margaret Neely, wearing the Guild stole, a gift from Cadder Guild to mark her birthday.

On Thursday 6th February our speaker was our own John who gave us a very interesting talk on our theme COMPANIONS ON THE ROAD. He told us about some of the COMPANIONS IN THE Bible who helped and encouraged each other on some very difficult journeys. These were interspersed with the singing of some of our favourite hymns.

Our evening ended with a very special occasion. We celebrated the forthcoming 100th Birthday of one of our long serving members Margaret Young who reached that grand old age on the 14th February.

On 20th February we have a speaker to tell us about the second Project we are supporting this year "Empowering Teenage Mothers in Zambia ."

The City Group Rally is on Sunday 23rd February 2020 in Springburn Parish Church at 3 pm and this year St James the Less will host The World Day of Prayer on Friday 6th March at 2 p.m.

It seems to have been a very quick session . We will be holding our A.G.M. on March 5th After the A.G.M. an officer from our own Boys' Brigade Company is coming to tell us how they have used the money they received under their involvement in the Guild Projects. It will be lovely to have feedback on how the money is used.

Our fund raiser for the Projects is on Thursday March 19th in the South Halls at 7.30pm. Tickets are now on sale priced £6.00 and the entertainment is by the highly acclaimed trio THE IAN WALKER BAND.

Our final evening of the session is our Daffodil Tea on Thursday 2nd April when Quartet + 1 will entertain and we will be joined by our friends from Fairlie Church Guild.

Our meetings are in the South Halls at 7.30 pm and, as always, anyone who is interested in any of our meetings will be made most welcome.
